Keppel subsidiaries awarded $54m in FPU contracts

In the Asian Pacific, through Keppel Offshore & Marine’s subsidiaries, Keppel AmFELS and Keppel Shipyard, the Singapore-based Solution Company has been awarded contracts whose values amount to approximately S$75m ($54.1m) for the renovation and completion of two floating production units (FPUs).

The first contract between Keppel AmFELS and Salamanca FPS Infra is for the refurbishment of a floating production unit that is expected to be operated by the US-based private exploration and production business, LLOG Exploration Offshore.

While the second contract is by Keppel Shipyard and Modec Offshore Production Systems, this contract’s primary purpose is to support the completion of floating production storage and offloading vessel(FPSO). However, the ship isn’t expected to arrive in Singapore’s yard until the fourth quarter of 2022.

The first contract is expected to go into implementation by the second quarter of 2024. The Salamanca FPU will be placed in the deep seas of the Gulf of Mexico and can process 60,000 bopd and 40 million cubic feet of natural gas daily.

When finished, the FPSO, which can process up to 100,000 bopd, will be delivered to Woodside Energy as the operator of the Sangomar field development offshore Senegal.
