Ford raises price of F-150 Lightning up to $8,500

According to the newer pricing model, Ford has announced that the starting prices of its 2023 F-150 Lightning will increase between $6,000 and $8,500. Orders for the completely electric truck will resume on Thursday after being stopped for over eight months.

The decision to adjust prices comes when competing big name automakers like General Motors and Tesla have already raised prices. Automaker companies have struggled with the rising cost of materials since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The prices have only worsened with a lack of supply and inflation running rampant worldwide.

The starting prices will now start from nearly $47,000 to approximately $97,000, as the 2022 model-year was listed at around $40,000 to $92,000.

Marin Gjaja, chief customer officer, said those who place an order on Thursday, August 8, 2022 and after will be affected by the change in price. “Current order holders awaiting delivery are not impacted by these price adjustments. We’ve announced pricing ahead of re-opening order banks so our reservation holders can make an informed decision around ordering a Lightning.”
