Twitter’s week is not getting any better. According to Downdetector.com, a site that monitors reports of web outages on Twitter.com, Twitter mobile, and the platform’s TweetDeck app have been down since approximately 8:05 a.m Eastern Time today.

These issues come as the social media company remains in a legal battle with billionaire Elon Musk over his proposed platform acquisition.
Unfortunately for the company, Twitter is not new to web outages. The company had dealt with major technical issues, which led to the site being down twice in one week in February 2022.
Luckily for Twitter, this isn’t the first case where a major social media company has been forced to deal with similar scenarios. On October 4, 2021, the entirety of Meta’s platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, Mapillary, and Oculus, were unavailable for approximately 6 hours due to DNS issues.
As the world enters into the new-internet world of web 3, and internet access becomes more readily available worldwide, it is expected that the world will continue to deal with significant congestion outages unless these globally recognized platforms reevaluate their scaling.
