In a post shared on Instagram, Canadian swimmer Mary-Sophie Harvey announced that she had been drugged on the last night of the World Championships this past month.

Speaking further later excerpts, she explained more candid recounts of the story:
“At this time I wasn’t aware of what got inside of me, I just remember waking up the next morning completely lost” stated Harvey.
Flanked with the team manager and doctor at her bedside, the 22-year-old stated that she had lost consciousness shortly after the celebration of the event commenced. She woke up with a rib sprain, and a concussion, along with multiple bruises.
Admitting fear of the unknown in regards to what had transpired, the star took the high road, implicating she should not let the moment define her.
In what was her 1st 200m individual medley, Harvey finished 8th in her at the World Final.
