After nearly four months of detainment, Mercury star Brittney Griner is still awaiting a resolution.
In a recent interview on MSNBC, Cherelle Griner, the wife of the detained star, has asked President Joe Biden to negotiate the star’s release from the Russian government.
The wife of the Mercury star stated a lack of communication with family, as she went on record stating the President’s regime has not responded to her requests to speak with the Head of State.
Griner has also pointed out inconsistencies within the regime, in that they’ve started to the press that they have said they’ve “done everything” to bring her back to safety, but without much action.
Ultimately, it has led Cherelle and representatives from the Griner camp to have “zero trust” in the government.
It was reported Wednesday that multiple organizations representing P.O.C, women, and the L.G.B.T.Q. the community have all called for Biden and Vice President Harris to act.
Tweets and personal letters have been penned to them in the hopes of some action to be taken.
Griner, who was detained in February for accusations of hashish oil in her luggage, was honored by the WNBA, and named an All-Star Starter in the upcoming game.
