Former Cricket Star Graham Thorpe hospitalized

Afghanistan coach and former England and Surrey batter Graham Thorpe have been reported to be currently hospitalized with an illness.

As revealed by the Professional Cricketers Association (PCA), they stated in regards to the severity of the illness: “His prognosis is unclear at this stage and we ask for privacy for him and his family at this time.”

The ex-Cricket star recently accepted a job with his new team in March, after a 12-year stint as the batting coach for England.

In his near-2 decade career, he scored over 6,700 Test runs for England, including 16 centuries, at an average of 44.66.

One of his most notable performances was his displays against both Australia and New Zealand in 2002. The former was against Australia, where Thorpe scored an unbeaten 114 in the second innings of his Test debut. The latter being where Thorpe ended with a Test-best of 200.
