Tonight’s much-anticipated Premier League matchup between Liverpool and Manchester United is set to take place at 8. However, Manchester will have to give it a go without their star forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
The footballer is out on personal leave following the death of his newborn son.
Ronaldo took to Instagram yesterday to comment on the loss, stating:
“We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
Ronaldo’s sister and singer Katia Aveiro also expressed her sentiments on the matter:
“I love you and my heart is all there on this side … May God takes care of everything and strengthen your path more and more.”
Aveiro ended with a message seemingly referencing her dad José Dinis Aveiro’s 2005 passing, implicating that the late infant angel is “already on father’s lap.”
In light of an otherwise unfortunate circumstance, the infant’s twin sister lives on, as, according to Aveiro, she will remind her family “more and more that only love matters.”
