The NFL Offseason has heated up, as following the news of the big Aaron Rodgers signing, star Quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Carson Wentz are on the move.
9-time Pro-Bowler Russell Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos for quarterback Drew Lock, TE Noah Fant, D-lineman Shelby Harris, two first and second-round picks as well as a fifth-round selection over the next two years.
In the deal, the Seahawks flipped the 32-year-old alongside a 2022 fourth-round pick.
The quarterback ends months of speculation of a move, as a decision between him and coach Pete Carroll was imminent following a disappointing 2021 season, seeing the franchise go 7-10 on the campaign. Wilson’s name was linked to the Washington Commanders, however, could not meet the needs of the quarterback or his team for a deal. However, all was not lost for the Commanders this offseason.
A year after trading draft capital for him, the Indianapolis Colts trade quarterback Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders for a package of draft picks, including 3rd round picks over the next 2 years. Wentz has been under scrutiny following a pedestrian 9-8 record with the Colts; in a season that saw the Philadelphia Eagles, his former team, improve following his exit.
More news may be coming out for the NFL, as the league looks toward the league’s draft season.
