MSC Cruises becomes official partner of Formula 1

In a multi-year deal, MSC cruises and Formula 1 have announced that the cruise line will be an “Official Cruise Partner of Formula 1” for the 2022 season.

Formula 1 said they were “delighted” to be welcoming MSC as a Global Partner, which began at the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2022.

The collaboration will bring some of MSC’s more technologically advanced and glamorous ships to port during Grand Prix weekends. It will also enable MSC’s fleet to complement the high-end experience of Formula 1 to increase the brand’s global visibility.

For MSC, the partnership will allow the cruise line to leverage Formula 1’s global fanbase, and bring the “thrills” of the racing company to its cruises.

“We are thrilled to announce MSC Cruises as a new Global Partner of Formula 1, bringing together two truly global brands. It is a perfect partnership with both of us focused on delivering the best experience for our fans and customers globally and combining entertainment, luxury, and service,” Formula 1’s President and CEO, Stefano Domenicali, said.

MSC Cruises and Formula 1 have also united to make sustainable change, as both companies are committed to becoming Net-Zero Carbon and creating new environmental technologies and solutions.

“There is a strong shared ambition between us and F1 as we are both committed to investing in research to accelerate the development and adoption of next generation technologies – both maritime and environmental in our case – to build the future of our industries in a sustainable way,”Pierfrancesco Vago, MSC Cruises’ Executive Chairman, said. “We are both working to continuously improve environmental performance with a clear vision to build a lasting legacy for future generations. We are looking forward to developing our relationship together as this exciting season unfolds.”

“We are both committed to sustainable solutions, and MSC’s insight and expertise perfectly complement our global offering and will continue to enhance our brand,” Domenicali said.

This partnership is the latest alliance for Europe’s largest cruise operator.
