What a difference a year makes?
After the New York State Mandates for COVID-protocol had designated people to be vaccinated for indoor sporting events, Mayor Eric Adams has eased mask and vaccination restrictions amid the decline in covid-rates effective on March 7th.
The news comes as the Brooklyn Nets, NBA Title favorites, approach the playoff season.
All-Star guard Kyrie Irving, known as non-vaccinated can appear at Nets home games but is unable to play yet.
This has drawn much criticism from journalists, who question the consistency in the rule, as it only applies to players who play for a New York franchise, and not visitors.
Despite his inability to play, it is speculated that he would be able to play by the Playoffs, as the 29-year-old’s play to keep the injury-riddled team above water has seemingly turned the tide in his favor in the fight to get #11 to return the full-time action.
The Nets currently stand at 8th in the Eastern Conference, 32-30, with only 20 games left on the year.
