This week, Carnival Cruise Line hosted meetups of some of its cruise ships in the waters near Mexico and the Bahamas to celebrate its 50th birthday.
“We only turn 50 once, so we had to go big, and what’s bigger than a year-long birthday celebration that begins with our special Sailabrations cruises,” said Carnival Cruise Line’s president, Christine Duffy. “From the minute our guests walk into our terminals, they’ll know they are at the biggest and best birthday party ever.”
The company kicked off its “sailabrations” on March 5 with its first meetup between the Carnival Miracle and Carnival Radiance outside Ensenada, Mexico.
On March 7, seven of Carnival’s ships met up in the water near Cozumel, Mexico. Guests aboard the Carnival Breeze, Carnival Ecstasy, Carnival Glory, Mardi Gras, Carnival Pride, Carnival Sunrise, and Carnival Vista were able to take part in “one of the biggest birthday parties at sea.”
During the meetup, each ship held their own dance party on the Lido Deck. Guests were also able to participate in the largest “Ship-Tok” at sea, where the entertainment staff taught and led guests in a choreographed dance inspired by Carnival’s 50 birthday.
Another large meetup between the Carnival Conquest, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Legend, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Spirit, and Carnival Sunshine took place on March 9 between the waters of Eleuthera and Nassau in the Bahamas.
Carnival is hosting 17 themed birthday sailings that run through March 11, 2022, and they include multiple meetups at sea. The last meetup will be tomorrow between the Carnival Miracle and the Carnival Panorama in Baja, Mexico off the coast of Ensenada.
Carnival will also be able to celebrate its full 24-ship fleet returning to service by this summer.
