As they look to crown a new men’s Grand Slam for the Australian Open, the reigning champ eyes a return to action in Dubai.
Djokovic, who was banned from competition in Melbourne is set to play in Dubai for the Dubai ATP Tour next month.
The 20-time Grand Slam winner was placed on the entry list for the competition after his unceremonious exit from Australia. The 34-year old does not have to be vaccinated for the event, as it is not a prerequisite upon entry
Djokovic was denied by the committee to compete in this month’s Open after not meeting requirements for the competition, despite his alleged exemption earlier this month.
The Serbian’s chances of adding to his Grand Slam winnings are slim to none, as upcoming events such as Indian Wells and Miami will each require he gets vaccinated.
The Dubai Tennis Championships will take place from February 14th through the 26th.
