The play-by-play announcer is in the news again regarding his illness. And sadly, it will take him out for the foreseeable future.
ESPN’s Dick Vitale, announced yesterday via Twitter that he will take an indefinite leave of absence following a new revelation of pre-cancerous Dysplasia on his vocal cords.
Vitale has had many trials and tribulations with his health recently, from multiple surgeries to remove melanoma to chemotherapy to treat lymphoma, which he was initially diagnosed and taken off television for.
Thankfully, the broadcaster went on to note that he’s made a great deal of progress in his battle with lymphoma, as he was cleared to return a mere couple of weeks ago.
However, the presumptive face of College Basketball will have another hurdle to cross. Here’s hoping that he perseveres once more.
